Children's Festival FAQs
How much does it cost to attend the Children’s Festival? All of the activities are free. There is a cost for vendor and concession items.
What should my kids wear to the Children’s Festival? Children should come dressed in play clothes or bathing suits that can get wet. The Splash Zone will return this year with a water slide, the Fun Wagon and sand. No flip flops are allowed.
How long will it take to participate in all the activities? Families can easily spend all day at the festival participating in all of the activities available.
What time should I arrive? The festival is in the summer, so the earlier you arrive the cooler it will be. The festival gates open at 10 a.m. Also, the earlier you arrive, the more time you will have to enjoy all of the activities.
What types of activities are there for children 8 and up? Children 8 and up can participate in all of the activities. Some that may interest them most are the tubing trips on the river, bubble balls, the water slide, and more!
Can we bring in food and drinks? There are food vendors on site. Special food for infants and toddlers as well as bottle water is allowed. The food vendors on site will be announced as they are confirmed.
Can we bring pets? Danville Parks and Recreation follows the ADA guidelines on service animals. The ADA classifies a service dog as a service animal that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
What happens if it rains? This event will be held rain or shine. In cases of severe weather, notices will be made on Danville Parks and Recreation’s Facebook Page. Some activities will not be available in cases of severe rain.
Do you have an ATM on site? There is an ATM outside of the gates in the parking lot.
Can my child bring their bike? Bicycles are not allowed inside the festival. Feel free to bring bikes to ride on the RiverWalk trail after attending the festival. Strollers are allowed at the festival.
Where can I park? There is parking available behind the Community Market, at Newton’s Landing, and the parking garage on Bridge Street. A map will be posted on the Facebook event page closer to the event with available parking.
