Danville's Storywalk® Trail is located on the original section of the Riverwalk Trail in Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The trail consists of 20 panels that feature panels to a children's book. Visitors to the trail are encouraged to enjoy an iconic section of the Riverwalk Trail and a beautiful vista along the Dan River while reading a new story each month!
Parking is available here. The lot is just a few feet from the first panel. The total walk is less than a quarter mile and is partially shaded.
Summary: When a young girl gets frustrated with her chaotic life at home, she imagines what things would be like if her family were animals instead. Would life be better as a pod of pelicans, a pride of lions, or a herd of buffalo? Or is it ultimately a family of humans that she needs? In this beautifully illustrated book, young readers learn the names for groups of animals through a sweet, whimsical narrative that focuses on the importance of family.
The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
