File of Life Program

About the Program

The File of Life is a new program offered by the Fire Department. File of Life brings important information to the attention of the City's Emergency Medical Technicians in the case of emergencies.

The File of Life is a red plastic folder that adheres magnetically to the refrigerator and contains important medical information about you. It should be in plain view for any emergency response personnel. The file should contain information about:

  • Medications taken
  • Allergies
  • Medical conditions
  • Blood type
  • Recent surgeries
  • Emergency contact information
  • Physician and medical insurance information
  • Living will
