The Municipal Building and all other city administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. Also, the public library and the James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) will be closed.
However, Danville Transit will operate, and household trash and yard waste will be collected on Monday as regularly scheduled.
Danville Regional Airport will be open. Danville Utilities workers will answer emergency calls and restore service as needed.
Administrative offices, the library, and courthouse will reopen on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

US Route 58 west of downtown Danville is a key corridor for freight movement and long distance east-west trips across Virginia. The Route 58 West Access Management Study will identify optimal access spacing to maintain roadway capacity, minimize crash potential, and ensure reliable travel times for the movement of people and goods. The 11-mile study corridor extends from just west of Piedmont Drive in the City of Danville to Long Circle in Brosville.

Our program concentrates on three main pillars: education, recreation, and health and wellness. We focus on these pillars by providing homework help, adopting healthy eating habits and participating in physical activities in accordance with the National After School Alliance’s standards. Outcomes are achieved through learning sports, gardening, learning about ourselves, and being motivated to be a positive force in our community. Meet every Saturday in November at the Carrington Pavilion for an hour long running club. Ages 5-8 will meet at 9 a.m. and ages 9-14 will meet at 9:30 a.m. Adults must stay for the program and are encouraged to participate. Kids will learn stretches, warm-up techniques, and proper running form. Each week youth will explore new running paths with the run leader and be challenged to beat their previous records!
