Danville Police Chief Scott Booth and other police staff will hold a community engagement walk Thursday afternoon March 22, 2018 in the neighborhoods adjacent to GLH Johnson Elementary School.
The walk will begin at 2 p.m. at the picnic shelter located on the northwest corner of GLH Johnson Elementary School property along Northmont Blvd. From the school, Chief Booth and his staff will divide into teams and go door to door to houses on Northmont Blvd, Melrose Ave, Glendale Ave and others in the immediate vicinity as time allows.
This area was chosen as the second in a series of walk locations due to its close proximity to a recent shooting event reported on February 14, 2018 that occurred very near the school.
These walks serve as a platform to build public trust and develop positive relationships between officers and community members.
