Yesterday a Danville grand jury issued the following felony indictmens on Diairion Marqui Davis:
1st degree murder in violation of Virginia State Code 18.2-32.
Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in violation of Virginia State Code 18.2-53.1.
Possession of a firearm by violent convicted felon in violation of Virginia State Code 18.2-308.2.
The indictments are the result of the investigation into the 5-14-18 homicide of Arthur Anderson. See Danville Police Department media release dated 5-14-18:
This morning at approximately 2:33am Danville Police received an emergency call that a person was lying in the street in the 200 block of Rocklawn Ave. When officers arrived they discovered a male lying in the roadway suffering from an injury consistent with a gunshot.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to SOVAH where he later died as the result of his injuries.
This incident is being investigated as a homicide.
Davis is currently in custody in North Carolina awaiting extradition back to Danville. See Danville Police Department media release dated 5-14-18:
As part of the ongoing investigation into the shooting death of Arthur OBrian Anderson this morning, a warrant for possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon was obtained for 30-year-old Diairion Marqui Davis, of Reidsville, NC. Davis is a person of interest and is considered armed and dangerous.
During the day, Investigators worked diligently to locate Davis and received information that he may be in Greensboro, NC. Danville Police Investigators went to Greensboro this afternoon to coordinate efforts with the Greensboro Police Department and ultimately, to arrest Davis. He was located in Greensboro and will be extradited back to Virginia at a later date.
The homicide investigation is active and ongoing. The Danville Police Department and Greensboro Police Department continue to work together in this investigation.
The Danville indictments will be served on Davis once he is extradited back to Virginia.
