On June 25th a Danville grand jury issued three indictments against 28 year- old Colby Stefan Deshazo of Danville. These indictments are as follows:
Feloniously manufacture/possess a bomb/explosive device in violation of Virginia state code 18.2-85.
Feloniously and maliciously attempt to commit arson by bomb or explosive device in violation of Virginia state code 18.2-81.
Feloniously and maliciously discharge a firearm at an occupied building in violation of Virginia state code 18.2-279.
Deshazo was arrested on the indictments Monday, 6-25-18 without incident. He is currently housed at the Danville Adult Detention Center (City Farm).
These indictments are the result of the investigation into an incident involving an improvised incendiary device that occurred in April at 1030 Piney Forest Road. See Danville Police Department media release dated 04-20-218:
At approximately 9:24 am today Danville Police Officers were called to 1030 Piney Forest Road in reference to a car fire and shots fired. The employee at 1030 Piney Forest Rd. had called to report that a vehicle was on fire in the parking lot. When she went outside to determine what had happened, shots were fired in her direction. There were no injuries reported.
Once on scene officers found a vehicle with burn marks from improvised incendiary devices. Debris was scattered nearby and collected for evidence. Additional evidence was recovered and a K-9 team was called in to track. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
