The Danville Planning Commission on Monday elected Harold Garrison to serve as chairman for 2020. The vote was unanimous.
Garrison replaces Michael Scearce, whose term expired at the end of December and no longer serves on the board.
The board also unanimously elected Steve Petrick as vice chairman and Jimmie Bolton as secretary.
The commission is a seven-member board appointed by the City Council to review applications, hold public hearings, and make recommendations on rezoning applications, special use permit applications and zoning code amendment applications. Recommendations are sent to the City Council for final action.
The commission also reviews and has the authority to approve or deny major subdivision plats.
Meetings are held at 3 p.m. on the first Monday after the first Tuesday of every month as needed in City Council Chambers, which is located on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building. River City TV airs the meetings.
