Where should I park a vehicle during snow storms?: One of the main obstacles for equipment operators during snow plowing is parked vehicles. Once the snow begins, removing your vehicle from the street or cul-de-sac until the roads are cleared will allow the operators to do a much better job.

1. What is the purpose of putting brine solution on the streets before a snow or ice storm?: The brine helps prevent snow or freezing rain from bonding to the pavement and impedes hard to remove snow or ice packs from forming during or after a storm.

2. I am unable to shovel my sidewalk and/or driveway in the event of snow. What can I do?: Hopefully a volunteer neighbor or relative will assist you. If not, someone could be hired for a small fee. According to City Code (Sec. 35-22), residents are responsible for snow removal on abutted sidewalks within twenty-four (24) hours after the snow fall has ceased.
