Each resident admitted to the W. W. Moore, Jr. Detention Home has a medical screening completed within 72 hours of admission. These screenings are a routine part of our intake process. These screenings include a vision test, Tuberculin test, dental check as well as a routine medical screening completed by our facility nurse. Any medical condition, including dental needs, are treated or referred to the appropriate medical facility. In addition, residents may be referred to the nurse or our facility physician daily Monday through Friday for medical complaints. In emergencies or on weekends we utilize the services of our facility physician and/or the Danville Regional Medical Center.
