There's no better way to enjoy summer break than with summer camp! Camps are back and better than ever. With different camps available at a variety range of age levels, there's a camp for everyone! Check out camp offerings below.

Out-of-School Camp

BaseballSpend your summer building friendships, exploring the outdoors, and participating in healthy activities in a quality camp program. Our program follows all CDC guidelines and policies regarding social distancing and safe procedures, National Afterschool Alliance healthy eating and physical activity standards, and Virginia Childcare standards. Outdoor Camps

Kayak Camp IBoys kayaking

Three days of kayaking and water safety on the Dan River. Participants will learn basic kayaking skills and techniques, safety protocols, and explore different sections of the Dan River. Register by June 15. Call (434) 799-5150 for information. 

Adventure Camp I

Prepare for an exciting outdoor day-camp consisting of hiking, kayaking, zip lining, high ropes adventures and climbing wall challenges. This camp will also include arts and crafts, environmental education, and outdoor games.

Kayak Camp II

Partake in an exhilarating week of kayaking. Teens will learn basic kayaking skills and techniques, safety protocols, and explore different sections of the Dan River as well as full a full day trip on a local river section. Call (434) 799-5150 for information.

Library Camps

Summer reading2022 Summer Reading

"Read Beyond the Beaten Path" with the library this summer!  Avoid Summer Slide while school is out by participating in the library's Reading Challenge. The entire family can read and complete activities to earn prizes. In addition to the Reading Challenge, children, teens, and adults can register for a variety of free programs happening each week at the library. Programs will range from tie-dye crafts to book clubs, dinosaur tea parties to wilderness survival skills and so much more! Camp grove recreation center Camps

Camp Grove Recreation Center provides access to programs and services for disabled individuals in the community. Services at Camp Grove center on ensuring participants are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone, experience independent life, and learn life skills—all while in an educational and safe environment.

Movin' n Groovin'

Camp grove on the Move

The vans are on the move! Travel to the Greensboro Science Center to explore nature. You can also play mini golf at Putt-Putt in Lynchburg. Participate in community outings and explore the Danville area and other surrounding cities. Call (434) 799-5199.

All AGes Camp

American PasTimes

Participate in America’s favorite pastime activities! We'll go to American Legion Field to see the Danville Otterbots, and also play a game of flag football with your friends. At the end of camp, we'll celebrate with a summer cookout! Call (434) 799-5199.

Health and Safety

Health and safety are important in our community. Learn about the job duties of police officers, fire fighters, and EMS employees. Participants will play Bingo and Jingo games related to health and safety to win a prize! Call (434) 799-5199.
