[ARCHIVED] Photo contest offers citizens a chance to showcase Danville

The city of Danville's Office of Economic Development (DOED) will be asking residents and visitors to participate in a photography contest. The contest will have four separate due dates and result in a 2014 Danville Calendar.

DOED invites individuals to submit color photos of Danville events, scenic and historic places, or favorite snapshots of life in the city. The selected photos will be featured for one month in the 2014 calendar along with the photographer’s name and photo location. The first due date will be March 1.

“We plan to feature these photographs on our social media pages and website throughout the year as well,” said Marketing and Research Manager Mackenzie Osadchuk. “There are a lot of beautiful things about Danville, and this is a great way to get citizens involved in showcasing the city.”

The contest page is located at www.discoverdanville.com and can be found by clicking on “Calendar Photo Contest” in the lower left navigation. All entries should be sent to the address on the contest page and must accompany the consent form. Entries will be selected on the basis of originality, creativity, and the quality of reproduction.

To view contest rules or submit an entry, visit www.discoverdanville.com.
