River District Rhythms at the Market debuts Saturday, May 4, from 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm in the Community Market parking lot. The first event will be Beach Night featuring Steve Owens & Summertime.
Admission is $5 per person. Children of age 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
The concert is presented by Danville Harvest Jubilee, which this year created River District Rhythms at the Market in response to a recent survey.
An overwhelming percentage of the 1,142 respondents of the survey preferred the Crossings events to be held in the Community Market parking lot as opposed to the Carrington Pavilion, while a large portion of the public asked for different music and different times; hence the birth of the new format.
River District Rhythms replaces Fridays At the Crossings.
The other dates for River District Rhythms at the Market include June 1, August 3 and September 14. The June 1 event will be Disco Night featuring Groove Train. Themes and artists are the other dates will be announced soon.
