The Danville Transit System will hold a public meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, and at 3 p.m. Friday, May 10, to obtain public input concerning proposed fare increases for all mass transit operations.
These meetings will be held on the first floor of the Ballou Park Senior Citizens Center. The center is located at 760 West Main St.
The proposed fee changes would go into effect on Aug. 1.
All interested persons are invited to attend these meetings and provide written and or oral comments and ask questions concerning the proposed fare increases. Written comments may be submitted to Marc Adelman, Transportation Services Director, P.O. Box 3300, Danville, Virginia 24543 or at adelmmd@ci.danville.va.us.
Public comments received at the meetings will be considered by Danville City Council. On June 4, City Council will conduct a formal public hearing on the proposed fare increases.
