City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to reduce the waiting time for reconsideration of rejected rezoning applications. This modification changes both the number of days before a denial can be reconsidered and the date that the clock starts in counting those days.
The modification sets the time before an application can be reconsidered from 365 calendar days of the date of the earlier filing acted upon by the City Council to 30 days after City Council denial.
However, due to the time it takes to process rezoning requests, the waiting period between possible City Council action on the same rezoning request will be more than 100 days.
In other action, City Council voted unanimously to grant a special use permit to allow a detached accessory structure at 3147 Westover Drive. It also voted unanimously to grant a special use permit to allow detached accessory structures on a lot located at 3547 Westover Drive.
In a work session, City Council discussed at length a petition by private contractors to bid on demolition projects. Council directed City staff to draft options for consideration.
