The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Red Flag Warning for today. This will be in effect until 6 pm this evening. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will occur shortly. Dry conditions will linger in the wake of a strong cold front and relative humidity values will quickly become critical this afternoon. In addition to the low humidity windy conditions will remain through the day and greatly enhance the fire danger. No outdoor burning should take place during the warning. A small spark can rapidly grow into a large fire under these weather conditions.
