A local group that recruits, develops and retains budding entrepreneurs will invest $250,000 to help a third high-tech company come to the River District. This seed money from The Launch Place will go to a North Carolina-based company that has developed new swim safety technology.
The technology involves a wearable swim monitoring and drowning-detection system that aims to assist poolside parents, lifeguards, and anyone else who strives to be "better safe than sorry" when in water.
The company, SEAL Innovation, will establish operations in Danville’s River District, which will bring leadership, technology and product development jobs to the area by 2015. More about SEAL Innovation: http://www.swimsealsafe.com/
