ACRT Inc., an Ohio-based company, has begun inspecting the right-of-ways of Danville Utilities’ electric distribution lines. In addition, the company is collecting vegetation samples.
The initial inspections and collection of data involves the feeder lines at the West Fork substation in the Brosville area. ACRT technicians will gather data on all of the feeders out of this substation.
The crews will be driving a vehicle with a magnetic sign on the side that reads “Contractor for the City of Danville.”
The power and light division of Danville Utilities contracted with ACRT to perform a system assessment of vegetation within the electric right-of-way. The assessment will be used to develop a comprehensive vegetation management program. The goal of this project is improve system reliability and to become more proficient with vegetation management.
