[ARCHIVED] City will hold citizen meeting 4-7 p.m. today on Mount Cross Road widening

The City of Danville will hold a citizen information meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23, regarding proposed widening improvements to Mount Cross Road between Lowes Drive and the city limits.

The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Grant Center on the Averett University North Campus, which is located at 707 Mount Cross Road.

In Phase I of this project, the city proposes to widen Mount Cross Road to four lanes from Lowes Drive to Parker Road. The purpose of the widening is to improve traffic flow, relieve congestion and improve pedestrian facilities in the area.

The major design features will be available for review at the citizen meeting.

Citizens also may review the designs at the Public Works Department’s engineering office. The office is located at 427 Patton St. Please call ahead at 799-5019 to ensure appropriate personnel are available to answer your questions.

Property impact information, relocation assistance policies, and tentative construction schedules are available for review at the engineering office. This information also will be available at the citizen information meeting.
