A Danville woman was arrested this morning for an assault that took place on a City of Danville mass transit bus last week.
Shortly before 9:00 am this morning Danville Police arrested Latasha Javonne Womack, age 25, of Danville for an assault that occurred on a mass transit bus on 12-21-10. On that date police responded for a report of an assault on a 58-year-old female passenger at approximately 11:00 am. The victim reported that she and the bus driver were having a conversation when she was assaulted by another passenger at the Wooding Avenue and Kemper Road stop. The victim was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center from the scene. The bus surveillance video was released to local media, and a tip led to Womack's arrest. She was transported to the Danville City Jail and placed under a $1,000 secured bond.
