The Danville Police Department is hosting the 2011 Iron Dog Challenge. The event will start at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, May 7, at Anglers Park in Danville, Virginia. The Iron Dog Challenge is an annual competition in which officers and their K9 partners compete in a challenging course in which they must traverse at least 3 miles of rough terrain with water and man-made obstacles. Law enforcement participants will finish with a firearms course at the Department range. It is expected that about 60 competitors from law enforcement, military and search & rescue agencies will travel from across Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland to participate. The public is invited to Anglers Park to watch the event.
