Six (6) people were sent to the hospital following a vehicle crash yesterday evening.
At approximately 6:40 pm yesterday Danville Police along with Fire and EMS responded to the Route 29 Bypass near Riverview Street for a report of a vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that a 2000 Honda Civic was traveling south on Route 29 when it lost control, went into the median, and overturned in the northbound side of Route 29 into the path of a 2006 Ford Taurus before colliding with it.
The Honda had five (5) total occupants, and the Ford had three (3) total occupants.
All five (5) occupants in the Honda were transported to various hospitals for treatment. Three (3) of the occupants in the Honda were ejected during the crash. Among the injured were a 24-year-old male (ejected), 22-year-old female, 13-year-old female (ejected), 5-year-old male, and 3-year-old female (ejected). Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The driver of the Ford, a 43-year-old female was transported to the hospital. She was treated and released. The other occupants in the Ford were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
