At approximately 2:35 pm this afternoon Danville Police along with the Danville Fire Department and Danville Life Saving Crew responded to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Vandola Road for a report of a vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on Vandola Road and came to the intersection with Riverside Drive. The Jeep pulled out of the intersection and into the path of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling west on Riverside Drive before colliding with it.
Damage is estimated at $5,000 for each vehicle. The Jeep had one (1) occupant who was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment. The Chevrolet had three (3) occupants, two (2) of which were transported to Danville Regional Medical Center. None of the injuries are considered life threatening.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Jeep, William Oscar Hardy, age 82 of Danville was charged with failure to yield right of way.
