On 10-20-21 at approximately 6:42PM, officers responded to the 500 block of Apollo Avenue for a hit and run accident. Two Danville residents, and the dog they were walking, were all struck in the incident. Responding officers learned that a suspect vehicle, a burgundy Nissan SUV, driven by 49-year-old Danville resident Anastasia Carroll Saunders had fled the scene. A 53-year-old male Danville resident was suffering from obvious severe wounds to his legs and body from being struck and dragged by a vehicle. The second victim was a 46-year-old female resident of Danville who suffered minor lower leg injuries. The male was flown out for treatment of his injuries and is in stable condition. The investigation revealed that the suspect knew the male victim from a previous relationship and this was an intentional act of hitting them with the car. Detectives located and arrested Anastasia Carroll Saunders and recovered the suspect vehicle.
