Yesterday Danville Police were dispatched to several business locations in the City in reference to a card game scam in which the suspects snatched money or other items of value from victims. The suspects approached people in parking lots and offered a three-card shuffle style of game for wager. When the victims pulled out money or other items of value, the suspects then snatched the items and ran. One of the suspects was described as a white or Hispanic male and the other two were described as black males. They were traveling in a van, possibly gray or green in color with unknown North Carolina temporary tags. Danville Police received calls about these activities at several locations throughout the City, however only two incidents were reported by victims. At approx. 3:30 PM a victim reported having money snatched during this scam in the parking lot of Walmart, located at 515 Mt Cross Rd. At approx. 5:00 PM two victims reported having jewelry snatched during the scam that occurred in the parking lot of Piney Forest Shopping Center located at 701 Piney Forest Rd. The investigation into these cases continues.
