UPDATE ON MONDAY, MARCH 21: The new traffic signal system at the intersection of South Main Street and Updike Place at Southwyck Plaza will become fully operational on Thursday, March 24, instead of Tuesday, March 22, as originally planned. Until then, the signals will remain in flash mode.
ORIGINAL POST ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16: A new traffic signal at the intersection of South Main Street and Updike Place at Southwyck Plaza will be activated on Thursday, March 17. The signal first will be put be on flash mode to acquaint motorists to the change. Full operation starts Tuesday, March 22.
The intersection improvements include accessible pushbutton-activated pedestrian signals and marked crosswalks.
