On July 27, 2022, at approximately 10:50PM, the Danville Police Department responded to calls of shots being fired at the apartment complex located at 1321 Piney Forest Rd. Responding officers found 23-year-old Darick Lamont Richardson II, a Danville resident, in the parking lot of the apartment complex near the F and K buildings suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Mr. Richardson was immediately flown by helicopter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where, later on the morning of July 28, 2022, he died from the injuries.
Investigators and crime scene are working this incident. No suspect information is available for release at this time.
