Starting today, westbound Craghead Street will be closed between Patton Street and Main Street to allow for removal of the right-hand lane and parking lane within this block. The lanes being removed have been closed to traffic for several weeks.
The work is expected to continue through the end of the week. This closed section of Craghead Street will be reopened late in the afternoon each day and closed again the following morning.
While construction is taking place, motorists traveling westbound on Craghead Street will need to use alternate routes. Traffic traveling on Patton Street toward Craghead Street can access Memorial Drive by turning left onto Market Street and right onto Main Street (see map).
Traffic traveling on Lynn Street toward Patton Street can access Memorial Drive by crossing over Patton Street to Market Street and turning right onto Main Street.
Traffic traveling westbound on Craghead Street toward Memorial Drive can access Memorial Drive by turning left onto Patton Street, right onto Ridge Street, and right onto Main Street.
The removal of the right-hand lane and parking lane in this westbound block of Craghead Street is part of the Riverfront Park plan, which includes removal of the westbound right lane in front of the park on Memorial Drive.
