At approximately 3:30 pm this afternoon Danville Police and EMS personnel responded to the Route 29 Expressway near Holland Road for a report of a vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Nissan Pickup was being operated by a 46-year-old Danville man traveling in the northbound side of Route 29. A 1999 Ford Pickup was being operated by a 70-year-old Lynchburg man traveling in the southbound side of Route 29.
The Nissan went across the median and struck the Ford before overturning near the Holland Road overpass. The Danville Fire Department and Danville Life Saving Crew responded. Both drivers were transported to Danville Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Nissan was airlifted to Roanoke for further treatment. Both driver's were reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing.
