Danville Utilities is requesting all water customers to limit their usage of water until further notice.
The conservation notice is the result of problems treating water from the Dan River due to the recent heavy rainfall.
“Such things as taking short showers, not washing your cars, watering outside plants manually, not washing off driveways or other paved areas with a water hose, minimizing clothes washing, etc., would help to reduce water usage,” said Barry Dunkley, director of water and wastewater treatment.
The city will notify all customers when this issue has been corrected.
