[ARCHIVED] Tickets on sale for .38 Special and Night Ranger in concert

Tickets are on sale for .38 Special and Night Ranger in concert. Presented by Danville Harvest Jubilee, the concert will be held Friday, July 20, at the Carrington Pavilion on Craghead Street.

Formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1974 in Jacksonville, Fla, .38 Special performs a mix of southern rock and arena rock. Barnes and Van Zant remain with the band, which has produced successful albums and top singles, beginning with the breakthrough hit "Hold On Loosely" in 1981.

Among the band’s other hits are “Rockin’ Into The Night,” “Caught Up in You,” and “Second Chance.”

Night Ranger is an American rock band from San Francisco that gained popularity during the 1980s with a series of albums and singles. The band is perhaps best known for the power ballad "Sister Christian" from 1984.

Tickets prices will be $37 for reserved, $32 for reserved seating with obstructed view and $27 for general admission.

The concert series is sponsored by Barefoot Wine, Budweiser, city of Danville, Danville Regional Medical Center, Pepsi Bottling Group, Texas Steakhouse & Saloon, and URW Community Federal Credit Union.

Tickets are available at the Danville Welcome Center by phone at (434) 793-4636 or online at All tickets will have a $5 increase in price on the day of the show.
