[ARCHIVED] Summer outdoor concert and movie series continues Thursday and Friday

The fourth outdoor concert of Centra Medical Group’s series of Enchanted Evenings will be held Thursday at the main stage in Ballou Park.

Jus Cauz Bluegrass Band will perform beginning at 6:30 p.m. The band is currently recording its first album and features Mark Hudson on guitar, David Lewis on mandolin, Tim Martin on fiddle, Jerry Steinberg on doghouse bass and Mark Wallace on banjo. Hudson sings lead vocals.

Families are encouraged to pack a picnic basket and bring the entire family for a relaxing evening in the park. The event is free and open to the public. If there is rain, the show will move into the Ballou Park Recreation Center. Enchanted Evenings are held on the third Thursday of every summer month.

Centra Medical Group also sponsors summer outdoor movies. The next movie scheduled is “Cars 2’ on Friday in Ballou Park. “Cars 2” is a 2011 American computer-animated action comedy spy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is the sequel to the 2006 film “Cars.”

The final movie scheduled for the summer is “The Rookie,” which will be shown Aug. 10 at Legion Field in Dan Daniel Memorial Park.

All movies are free and held on Friday evenings from 9 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

For more information about the concert and movie series, contact the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department at (434) 799-5215.
