Corrie Teague has been selected as the new project manager for the Danville Office of Economic Development.
As a project manager, she will be responsible for assisting in the development of new industrial park property, such as the Mega Park, by working with engineering firms and other key stakeholders. The project manager will be heavily involved in the redevelopment of River District properties, and will work with River District merchants and recruit small businesses.
“There is keen interest in the position with more than 60 people making application during the process,” Danville Economic Development Director Jeremy Stratton said. “After careful consideration of credentials and work experience, we feel that Corrie is the best fit for the position.
"We are very confident that Corrie will do a great job as we take development activities to a new level in Danville. She is very familiar with the community and understands the hard work it takes to be successful in economic development.”
Teague has been a research and marketing manager for the Office of Economic Development since October 2009. She also interned for the office.
Teague has a marketing management degree from Virginia Tech and is a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. She is a board member of the West Piedmont Workforce Investment Board and was recently appointed to the Downtown Danville Association Board.
She is also actively involved in the Young Professionals Network and is a member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association.
