The disc golf Blistering Heat Bowl will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the disc golf course in Ballou Park.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at shelter No. 8. The cost is $15. Participation is open to all ages.
The tournament consists of two rounds in separate beginner and advanced divisions, with a shotgun start. Prizes will be offered.
Disc golf has seen a soar in popularity in recent years as college campuses and city parks have been dotted with disc golf courses. The sport is an individual one. The idea, as with golf, is to throw – or putt – the disc into the basket in as few throws as possible.
