In preparation for the winter heating season, Danville Utilities will ignite natural gas furnace pilot lights free of charge for customers who call on or before September 15 to schedule pilot lighting services.
To request pilot lighting service, natural gas customers should call the Danville Utilities Water & Gas dispatch office at 434-799-5284.
Danville Utilities strongly recommends that for safety and customer convenience, natural gas customers call us or a qualified service company to relight furnace pilots before cold weather arrives.
After September 15, a $30 fee will be charged for pilot lighting services. This free service is available only during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional fees will apply for after-hours pilot lighting services.
