Danville Utilities has scheduled a power outage next week for residents along portions of four streets in the Forest Hills community. The outage will allow crews to clear trees limbs and branches that are growing into power lines and becoming a safety issue.
The outage will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for three days, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18, and ending Thursday, Sept. 20. It will affect residents on Blackwell Drive, Hawthorne Drive, Linden Place and Magnolia Drive.
Residents who will be affected by the outage have been informed. Cards explaining the work have been left at the doors of residents who were not at home.
The tree trimming will improve electric service reliability for customers. During severe weather, fallen limbs and tree branches create about two-thirds of power outages.
