[ARCHIVED] City government offices, library and courthouse closed for Thanksgiving

The Municipal Building and all other city of Danville administrative offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

In addition, the public library and community recreation centers will be closed both days. The James F. Ingram Justice Center (courthouse) will be closed beginning at noon on Wednesday.

The library reopens on Saturday. Offices, recreation centers and the courthouse will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.

Danville Transit will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, but will operate regular service hours on Friday. Danville Regional Airport will be open both days.

Household refuse collection and yard waste collection scheduled for Thursday will be collected on Saturday. Residents who regularly have Friday pickup will see no change in collections, with pickups remaining on that day as normally scheduled.

Danville Utilities workers will answer emergency calls and restore service as needed on Thursday and Friday. The water and wastewater treatment plants will be staffed and operated as usual.
