[ARCHIVED] Holiday celebration continues with Ballou Park tree lighting, Santa Calling

Continue the celebration of the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 15, and Thursday, Dec. 20, with two events arranged by the Danville Parks and Recreation Department, beginning with the 21st anniversary of the Ballou Park Christmas tree lighting:

BALLOU PARK CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Saturday, Dec. 15, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Ballou Park

Listen as the Schoolfield Elementary Chorus sings songs of the season. Ring in the holidays with family and friends at the lighting of the Ballou Park Christmas Tree. There will be treats from Santa for the little ones, and refreshments for all at the Ballou Recreation Center.

There is no fee for the event, which is for all ages. Call (434) 799-5125 for more information.

SANTA CALLING

Thursday, Dec. 20, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Register your child to receive a call from Santa all the way from his workshop at the North Pole. Santa will be making calls to children ages 3-8. The deadline to register is noon on Monday, Dec. 17.
